Ritchie Knox was born on March 23, 1986, in Detroit, Michigan.
What were the most difficult challenges you faced growing up?
Growing up in Detroit presented many challenges for Ritchie. Even a peek outside of his bedroom window meant confronting such activities as violence, drugs, sex, robbery, and even murder.
In such an environment, a keen understanding of the urban landscape is required to survive.
Ritchie also struggled at times to fit in, as his artistic talents often made him a target for bullying, harassment, and mistreatment. Such pressures caused Ritchie to cave in and engage in criminal activity himself. However, significant events like the death of his mother, almost going to jail, and leaving the hood for college forced him to reexamine life and get back to the basics of creation.
